For our flat roofing we use Polyroof. We have systems to suit all substrates from the 185 system designed for a traditional plywood substrate to Protec that can be laid directly over concrete, insulation and existing roof structure to name a few.
All flat roofs will carry insurance backed guarantees ranging from 10 – 20 years depending upon the system/substrate used. The flat roofing systems have a minimum of 30 year durability rating.
Please find listed below a description and diagrams of the various flat roofing systems
TECHNICALLY ADVANCED ROOFING SYSTEM
Protec is a cost-effective, fast curing polyester roofing system that is ideal for a wide range of refurbishment and new build applications. The system is cold applied and fully reinforced providing a tough yet highly flexible seamless membrane. The system rapidly becomes weather resistant allowing fast access in situations where foot traffic is required. The ease of application of the system enables effective waterproofing over complex or awkward detailing such as protrusions and plant.
Suitable for direct application to a variety of substrates, including built-up felt, concrete, asphalt, plywood and many single-ply membranes, the system is well suited to refurbishment or new build projects of any size. In most cases there is no need for stripping of the old roof, and therefore is ideal for projects that require a fast solution with minimum disruption. Where required, insulation can be provided in conjunction with the system to offer improved thermal performance for projects that demand the highest requirements in energy efficiency. The system is also highly effective for use in inverted or green roof situations, which offer a wide range of environmental benefits.
COLD APPLIED
Like all Polyroof systems, Protec is cold applied, meaning there is minimum disruption, whilst avoiding the fire and safety risks associated with conventional systems that rely on boilers and exposed flames.
ECONOMICAL
Protec is a very economical and cost effective system for roofs of any size. Most existing substrates can be over-coated meaning less stripping and disruption. The system is also extremely durable and can be re-coated at the end of the guarantee period. This leads to a low overall life cycle cost for the client.

Warm Roofs are the preferred method for constructing a flat roof, giving the best thermal performance and vapour control, whilst maximising flexibility of design by reducing the need for natural ventilation.
In general, any high risk condensation areas should have a Warm Roof construction.
Cold Roofs are the traditional method for constructing a flat roof. They rely on ventilation to the roof space to reduce condensation. The thermal performance achievable is also restricted, based on the size of the roof members. This type of construction is generally adequate for low risk condensation areas only.
